Description
Arboretum Neighbourhood Association is dedicated to building a safer, cleaner, and better-managed neighbourhood for everyone who lives, works, and invests in the Arboretum area. As part of the Bloemfontein Neighbourhood Association Group (BNAG), the association actively works to uplift public spaces, strengthen safety, and foster community pride.
Arboretum is a uniquely diverse and strategically positioned area. While a few single residential homes remain, much of the neighbourhood has evolved into a vibrant mixed-use node consisting of apartment blocks, townhouse complexes, and thriving businesses — from legal and accounting firms to the Vodacom Centre, the historic Klipkerk, and the well-known Oranje Meisieskool.
The area is also home to several important community and recreational assets, including the entrance to Naval Hill with its planetarium, the Ramblers sports grounds with rugby fields and padel facilities, and the Arthur Nathan Swimming Pool — a valued heritage site currently in a dilapidated state but earmarked for future restoration and revitalisation.
The success and sustainability of Arboretum depend on active support from residents, property owners, and businesses. Through membership, partnerships, and community involvement, stakeholders can play a direct role in shaping a neighbourhood that is safe, clean, and positioned for long-term growth and renewal.
Together, we can secure Arboretum’s future as a proud, well-managed urban community.
